Hi folks, I'm Jeremy Carter. I've been involved in the RGC core group since the beginning. I have a genuine passion for acoustic guitar and have been dabbling in it since I was 15 (that's 48 years ago now). Every player approaches it differently, but possibly because of my total lack of musical education, I tend to call my style a "full frontal assault". Having been a folkie from the 60's, I do a lot of alternating bass thumb with 2-finger melodies. Favorite instrumentalists are Chris Proctor, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet, Harvey Reid, but what I do most of (since I do like to sing) is Paul Simon, CSNY, John Denver, Jim Croce, James Taylor and a lot of country blues, traditional, and old timey - get the picture? - some of this & some of that with no real focus. Been playing autoharp a long time too and I do a little 5 string banjo. Hope to meet more of you here and at our meetings.

Even though I'm a few years younger, I come from the same school of acoustic music that you do, despite not being able to sing a lick! My father was big into the singer/songwriters of the sixties and seventies. He also regularly performed solo versions of CCR and Beatles tunes as well. I grew up listening to that and when I got around to playing myself I started with Simon & Garfunkel and Fleetwood Mac tunes after learning some basic cord shapes. My style and preferences have changed a little since then but I still have a soft spot in my heart for that type of music. I'm glad to see that there are troubadours like you that are such fine and passionate purveyors of an under appreciated (at least by today's music industry) art form. It really is a joy for me to hear you play. See you on July 20th!
