Hi to the Roc Guitar Club

Hi everyone. My name is John Treanor. I play a classical nylon string guitar. I've been to a couple meetings and the RGC seems like a pretty nice group. It seems like there is always something else going on for me on Sundays so I haven't made many of the meetings but I have enjoyed the ones I've been to.

I am an extreme amatuer but I really enjoy playing and being able to lose myself in that once a day. I only have one guitar, a nylon string european spruce/indian rosewood classical made by Woodley White. I love the sound and also the way that it smells. Mr. White even emailed me once after I bought it (used) to tell me a little bit about the instrument which was especially great.

I've been taking lessons for a few years with a teacher in the ECMS named Petar Kodsas and I couldn't have found a better match for me personally. Petar also runs an ensemble class on Saturday mornings and that's probably been one of the most fun things I've ever been involved in. I'd recommend that to anyone who plays classical and who's interested in playing with other people.

The forum is a great idea for people who are interested in guitar locally. I'm looking forward to lots of interesting discussions.
